As a Government Relations Associate Manager you are based in Brussels and will primarily support the Director of EU Government Relations in our interactions at the EU level. You will also be a part of the wider European Government Relations team and may support the Managing Director of European Government Relations as required. Their Your role will be both internal and external facing.
 
Your responsibilities:
  • Support the EU Government Relations team, develop and implement effective advocacy, positioning and relationship development programmes with government officials, primarily focussed on digital policy and for key business areas, including cyber-security. 
    • Help to identify and shape opportunities to position business leaders as thought leaders on digital transformation in the public policy space i.e. opportunities to engage with key officials, events, speaking opportunities for our leaders, industry initiatives etc.
    • Coordinate the development and dissemination of thought leadership and research on key policy topics to support our leaders’ external engagement, including through coordination of roundtables and other events.
    • Provide intelligence on key policy and legislative developments that impact the company and identified business areas, through attending external events, participating in trade association meetings, and monitoring EU publications.
    • Help to develop and coordinate Accenture’s position on relevant policy developments and implementing effective advocacy strategies to influence these developments.
  • Identify ways to improve and support the implementation of effective communication on policy developments internally to leadership and across the business and externally to key stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of EU political and policy developments, with ideally three years’ relevant experience. 
  • Strong programme management and organisational skills, with proven ability to organize, manage and deliver on major projects on time;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to summarise complex information effectively for a senior leadership audience;
  • Experience in research and development of thought leadership and management of policy campaigns, across the range of media and platforms, an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to effectively position companies and their policy agenda i.e. speaking opportunities, partnerships, collaborations.
  • Strong network and track record of building relationships across the EU Institutions, trade associations and with business leaders;
  • Languages: English, with ideally a second language.
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-cultural, multinational environment. 
  • Team player, flexible and pragmatic, with strong interpersonal skills;
