Fit@Work | We take care of ourselves

Busy work lives and family commitments can translate into having less time for your own wellbeing. Which is why in 2015, our BeLux practice launched the Fit At Work program with Energy Lab. Wellness from A-Z: Fit At Work has something for everyone.

Fit At Work addresses the full spectrum of wellness and is supported by a dedicated online platform and wearable technologies. More than 700 of our people are actively involved.

Helping all our people - regardless of fitness level, age, gender or interests - become and stay healthy for the long-term is the goal of Fit At Work. The program includes Sports Committee events, free workshops delivered by external experts on topics such mindfulness and stress reduction, healthy nutrition and quality sleep, individual and team challenges (cycling, running, meat-free days…) with prizes to be won plus active meeting rooms and healthy catering in our offices.

20 sports fixtures

Each year, our Sports Committee offers a wide variety of activities for all Accenture people in Belgium & Luxembourg, creating opportunities to network in a fun, healthy and sporty way… from competitive to relaxing. Popular fixtures include participating in public running and cycling events such as the Brussels 20KM and the Tour of Flanders as well as internal tournaments (football, tennis, squash, badminton, ping pong…), hockey, skiing and wakeboarding championships and even early morning yoga sessions in the office.

Digitally enabled

Being able to measure the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle is undoubtedly the best encouragement to continue any fitness program. The Fit At Work online platform functions as a continuously expanding repository of tips & tricks about living a healthy lifestyle including start to run, cycle and swim training plans, injury prevention, ideas for nutrition and healthy recipes.

Accenture also makes wearable technologies a key component of Fit At Work. Our people can link their activity apps to the online platform and monitor personal progress, record their daily KMs walked/cycled/run, share the results with other colleagues if they choose and since 2017, participate in the MOVE Challenge: a collective target of 250,000 KM in one year that translates into loans to MicroWorld, an online platform for investing in microentrepreneurs around the world!

Personal achievement

Role models are a great way to inspire more people to get involved. Each year, Fit At Work Ambassadors - male and female colleagues of all ages from across the company - volunteer to be the ‘face’ of the program. After screening and selection by Energy Lab, they are coached and supported to achieve a long-term personal Fit At Work goal. The year ends with a group challenge. In 2016 and 2017, this was the Poco Loco Sprint Triathlon in Roeselare.
